A real gem, this beauty has survive for perhaps two hundred years of use and is still in remarkable condition featuring its’ original hinges, original lock and what appears to be its’ original finish. Originally put into use when tea was so expensive that it needed to be locked away for safe keeping this style box is often adapted now for use as a jewelry case. A rare and beautiful object to behold.
