Both elegant and incredibly detailed these beautiful Stickley Set of 6 Coates Chairs have everything one could ask for in chairs created for the dining room. Stickley was so proud of these chairs that they have been featured on the cover of their catalogs several times. One such catalog cover can be seen in the final picture in our photo gallery here.

The Stickley Set of 6 Coates Chairs are a tour de force in every aspect. Beginning at the top of the chair there are large, bold, scrolled and shell carvings that immediately catch the eye. The backsplat is graciously curved and the side rails emulate this curve graciously all the way down to the seat area. The seat itself is shaped in a gorgeous serpentine shape and covered in what appears to be the original deep red fabric from the factory – and all seats appear clean and stain free. Beneath the seat is a gracious curved and carved seat frame featuring another shell on the front. The front legs are gracious and masterfully carved at both the top and bottom of the leg. Even the back legs show extreme skill on their construction with through tenons and pegs holding them in place firmly with the seat frame at the top while the bottom of the back legs are shaped and curved as well.
