From Niagara Furniture a Vintage Potthast Demi Lune Cabinet in excellent original, condition, although the top has recently been French polished to remove some surface wear. This is a very rare survivor. Incredibly well built this cabinet is as solid as the day it was first constructed.
Both elegant and incredibly detailed this beautiful Vintage Potthast Demi Lune Cabinet has everything one could ask for as a center point for any room. The cabinet shape alone is very difficult and time consuming to produce, let alone the vast amount of inlay work also done to the piece. The deep drawer on top provides a large amount of storage space and the two cabinet doors below also have a shelf inside for helping to arrange your treasures.
The demi lune shape is a classic design feature and this shape is highlighted on the top of the cabinet and this shaping continues downward and is reflected across the base of the cabinet. High quality construction throughout is exemplified in the solid mahogany legs with inlays, the designer style hardware, the dovetailed drawer and the incredible amount of inlay details. The Vintage Potthast Demi Lune Cabinet is both string inlaid and decorated with further designs throughout its’ entire front giving the piece a level of sophistication that is both rare and desirable.
This cabinet rests on four fantastic, inlaid tapered legs, and the manufacturers’ original label can still be found inside the drawer.
